Support Devon’s Heritage

Where there’s a will there’s a way for you to help Devon Historic Churches Trust preserve Devon’s Churches

Buckland in the MoorThe Devon Historic Churches Trust is a registered charity.
It was inaugurated in 1973 to raise funds to repair and preserve churches and chapels, of all denominations, throughout Devon.

Often the work required to maintain or repair a church is beyond the means of the local congregation and community.  A grant from the Devon Historic Churches Trust, whilst not always meeting the full cost of what is required, encourages local fund raising efforts and other charitable funding sources to finance the work that needs doing.

Devon’s churches have been a focal part of life in the county for centuries, providing both a spiritual and a physical focus for the communities they serve.  They are an important part of the landscape and of our natural heritage.  With your help we can ensure that they remain so.

These churches also contain so much of our heritage by way of wood and stone carvings, ornate screens and stained glass windows – when the buildings fail these historical treasures are at risk also.

How can you help?
By remembering The Devon Historic Churches Trust in your will.

You will have our own favourite charities and causes that you might wish to support, we would simply ask that in considering any bequest you think of us.

Please make a Will, it is important that you do so, and any legacy that you make, however small, will be important to us.
