Colyton, Nr Seaton, East Devon
3m N of Seaton
Colyton church lies at the centre of a charming unspoilt small town; its handsome exterior features a distinctive crossing, capped with an octagonal lantern on the Norman tower. An important feature of this spacious church is the particularly fine west window, originally installed as plain glass in the 15th century but re-glazed in 1908 with stained glass. There is much to see in this fine church, with superb free-standing Renaissance-style and 15th century monuments, a stone screen and two magnificent brass chandeliers each holding 36 candles.
